Go (also called Weiqi, Igo or Baduk) is a fascinating asian board game. Two players are placing black and white stones on a board (typical size 19x19). The aim of the game is to have the bigger areas on the board as the opponent. It is possible to capture stones by surrounding them without any holes. The rules are very simple, but Go is even more complex than Chess.
For a software developer like me with a passion for artificial intelligence writing a Go playing program is a very interesting challenge. In 1995 I started with this life-time project. It is running under all 32bit Windows versions including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. The latest version can be downloaded here (more than 4000 downloads 2007):

I am interested in getting feedback about my program. Please send suggestions to info(a)petersgo.net.
